Transumbilical Breast Augmentation
Transumbilical Breast Augmentation is an innovative surgical technique that requires the use of state-of-the-art fiber optic technology. The procedure involves the use of an endoscope, which is a type of surgical instrument, a long, narrow, lighted tube used to facilitate the insertion of breast implants through the belly button.Transumbilical breast augmentation is performed as an outpatient procedure, under sedation. A small incision is made in the belly button. Through the incision, a slender instrument passes under the skin to a location behind the breast tissue. Next, a tissue expander is inserted and placed under the breast. With the expander, a space is developed to create a pocket for the implant size you have requested. The position and size is verified. Then an empty saline implant is placed in the pocket and filled with sterile saline. The incision is closed with a few absorbable stitches. A small scar is hidden inside the belly button, leaving very little evidence of surgery. Benefits of this new procedure include:
· Faster recovery
· Very little tissue trauma
· Less risk of injury to the sensory nerves of the nipple and breast
· Shorter operative time (as little as 30 minutes compared with 1.5 to 2 hours for the standard technique)
· Hidden scar away from the breasts
· Less anesthesia
After surgery you may shower with 24 hours and resume non-strenuous activities within 48 hours. Full exercise programs may be resumed in four weeks. The result - your enhanced natural shape with almost no evidence of surgery.
