Laser Hair Removal
Laser hair removal is a medical procedure that uses a laser — an intense, pulsating beam of light — to remove unwanted hair. During laser hair removal, a laser beam passes through the skin to an individual hair follicle. The intense heat of the laser damages the hair follicle, which inhibits future hair growth. Our med spa facility uses the Lumenis One Laser, one of the most advanced laser machines in the country.
Lumenis Light Sheer Backed by long-term clinical data, the Lumenis LightSheer system has the ability to permanently reduce hair growth and treat all skin types including tanned skin, most hair colors, depths and diameters. The LightSheer laser system works by emitting near-infrared laser light that is absorbed by the pigment located in the hair follicle. The laser is pulsed, or turned on, for only a fraction of a second. The duration of each pulse is just long enough to damage the follicle. The system's unique, patented contact-cooling handpiece, the "ChillTip", helps protect the skin by providing continuous contact cooling of the epidermis for maximum patient safety and comfort.
The LightSheer is also FDA cleared for the treatment of pseudofolliculitis barbae (PFB), benign pigmented lesions, and leg veins.
